Vaidyanathan Ramaswami (a.k.a. Ram Ramaswami, born 1950) is an Indian mathematician, inventor, and writer. A former Chief Scientist at Bell Communications Research, USA, he later retired in December 2013 from AT&T Research. Ramaswami has a long list of technical publications in reputed journals, and several books [1][2]. He holds many U.S. patents on congestion and overload control, voice call recording, multimedia distribution over the Internet, and data routing [3]. He has also written an extensive set of articles on Hinduism, political affairs, and Carnatic music, publishing them in various magazines and in his own blog pages [4].
